Why Vine & Fig?
The name Vine & Fig comes from an ancient picture of home, peace, and belonging.
In Micah 4, the bible describes a time of peace when people will sit beneath their own vine and fig tree, with no one to make them afraid. It is a simple but powerful picture: a home of your own, a place of rest, and the freedom to enjoy it with the people around you.
Centuries later, George Washington returned to this same image again and again. In 1790, writing about freedom and security in the new American nation, he spoke of a hope that everyone could sit safely beneath their own vine and fig tree.
That picture still resonates with us.
We believe a home should be a place where people gather and stay awhile. Where little feet run across the patio, friends pull another chair up to the table, and summer dinners stretch long after the plates are empty.
And as the years pass, we hope it becomes the place your children remember—the place they bring their own families back to someday.
That's what Vine & Fig means to us.
